San Francisco, CA — Local accountant and office goofball Jesse Orenstein wowed coworkers this week by showing up to the office wearing festively decorated menorah socks on the first day of Hanukkah.
The socks in question were dark blue, with small light blue menorahs stitched onto them. A closer examination revealed numbers on each little yellow flame and Jewish stars along the sole. “Sure, they were $12, but that’s just the price you pay for great comedy,” Orenstein stated to the press.
“I think I’ve got a reputation for being a bit of a wild card around here,” Orenstein told reporters in the beige conference room of Hammond & Blithers Accounting firm. “I bring kind of a youthful, goofy energy to the place, and I think people depend on it a little. I’m basically a Jewish version of Adam Sandler.”
When asked about Orenstein’s socks, his coworker George Stathenson said, “Who? You mean the ginger guy? Yeah he’s off. I heard he’s going to get fired by Christmas.”
